Space Shuttle Access Platform

Description:

Work consisted of fabricating 10 aluminum platforms and 20 smaller steel access platforms and installing on Vertical Integration Facility at Launch complex 41. Platforms were above ground at various levels up to 225 ‘.

The platforms are used to access electric motors to open and close the environmental protection doors which protect the Atlas V rocket during assembly. The platforms were fabricated and inspected to AWS D1.1 and D1.2 standards.
