Ohio Confidential Multi-Building Data Center Campus — New Albany, Ohio
Project Overview
Sauer Group served as mechanical contractor for a confidential data center campus in New Albany, Ohio. Designed to support large-scale data storage and mission-critical digital infrastructure, the project required extensive HVAC, industrial water piping, refrigeration, and plumbing systems across the full campus.
Across the combined scope, Sauer Group installed more than 160,000 linear feet of industrial water piping and more than 120,000 linear feet of refrigeration systems. The project also included large-scale penthouse air-handling units cooled by evaporative cooling systems, along with drainage systems and potable water infrastructure.
To meet aggressive project schedules, Sauer Group crews worked six days per week, ten hours per day while maintaining detailed QA/QC documentation throughout installation. This disciplined documentation and field execution helped support successful, on-time startup milestones across the campus.

Large-Scale Piping Installation
Across the combined campus scope, Sauer Group installed more than 160,000 linear feet of industrial water piping and more than 120,000 linear feet of refrigeration systems. The work supported the data center’s cooling infrastructure and required careful sequencing across the phased campus buildout.
Mission-Critical HVAC Systems
The project included large-scale penthouse air-handling units cooled using evaporative cooling systems. Additional equipment and systems included multi-trade racks, MCUPs, dry coolers, fan coils, technical water, facility water, condensing water, and refrigerant piping.
Schedule-Driven Execution
Sauer Group crews worked a six-day, ten-hour-per-day schedule to maintain progress and support aggressive project milestones. This sustained field effort helped keep the mechanical scope aligned with the broader campus construction schedule.
QA/QC Documentation for Startup Readiness
Sauer Group teams followed a stringent QA/QC process that required detailed documentation of installation work. This approach helped verify work quality, support commissioning, and ensure startup readiness.
